Angel Cordero Ampuero, Ph.D., is Architect and finished his Doctorate on Architecture at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid UPM.
Associate Professor in the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM-UPM), he teaches ‘Architecture Analysis’ and ‘Modern/postmodern Spanish Architecture 1950-2008’ for undergraduate program and ‘Composition workshop’ for master’s degree in Architecture. He also coordinates the international architecture workshop ‘Founded Architecture; Architecture in Context’, organized between ETSAM-UPM and AUIC Politecnico di Milano.
He is the author of the book ‘Fernández del Amo: aportaciones al arte y la arquitectura española’ (Madrid, 2019), apart from many other papers and chapters of scientific books related to Architecture, Architectural Heritage, Urban Design and Landscaping. He has researched for more than 25 years about Architecture and its relationship with urban and natural landscape, contemporary Art, Design, Fashion and Culture: in the last decennial, as a member of UPM Research Group ‘Analysis and Documentation of Architecture, Design, Fashion and Society’, coordinated by Professor Manuel Blanco.
Since 2018 he is acting as Vice-Dean Deputy of ETSAM-UPM. As architectural designer, together with Jorge Palomero Ferrer, they won ARCO Prize 2008-2009 for their social houses complex at San Francisco de Huércal-Overa (Almeria, Spain), also shortlisted in X BEAU.
